But nevertheless the zipper is hard to close. I liked the look online for these shoes especially because my son wears a lot of brown, but have found that it's hard to find socks that look right with this shoe. || Mephisto Mens Baduard Bought these to wear with a dress. They are a little too casual for me since they are very flat but they still look ok with a short summer dress. They are very comfortable. Only thing I don't like is that the back of the shoe (the whole bottom portion) is painted so the color has already worn off in patches where the shoes rub together. However, after walking a few blocks, they really rubbed several blisters onto the soles of my feet. Also, they're quite hot, which wasn't, to be fair, unexpected. Despite that, I do like the shoes and will keep wearing them; I just won't do much walking in them. I was trying to find a shoe that wasn't as dressy as my oxfords but not as casual as sneakers. I've found them to be really great for those occasions when the appropriate attire is unknown and I want to avoid appearing overdressed or under dressed. They are so comfortable and look good whether with shorts, slacks or skirts. I have small ankles but a fairly high instep and the ankle strap does seem a bit shorter than the pair I had before, but by adjusting the strap it does fit.
