They were great for activities such as hiking, but about as light as a sneaker. It is extremely comfortable...from the first moment you put the shoes on to the end of the day. There is good arch support, ample room in the toe box, and the heel is close fitting. (I have a narrow heel but am wide in the toes...these shoes give me the perfect combination!)
