The only drawback is that they're very porous. The sand filters in and my feet are filthy. But they're also cooler. Trade-offs. Bought it first in wine, but it was too pink for me...was then able to get it in slate, and that was a lovely color. Merrells aren't a pretty shoe in my size, but they're comfortable. I ordered a 10WW which is usually a bit big in other styles to accommodate for wearing a sock, but this style my toes are squished at the top of the shoe with no socks. I am ordering an 11 to see if it is any better. I wear them to ride and look sexy. The movement in the ankle is not restricted at all for shifting and breaking.
